About Us

Hedrena became reality in 1992 when two of its founding shareholders (Hedley and Irena) dared dream of building a global company specialising in the value adding of wool. Within months of registering the brand 'Hedrena' a unique pure wool knitted fabric was being developed under the guidance of the CSIRO and the Australian Wool Corporation.

Years later, Hedrena garments are proudly worn by people throughout the world. The 'Hedrena Wool' logo has become an international symbol of quality and classic style. Overseas visitors often have Hedrena garments at the top of their shopping lists.

Their innovations have brought new standards of comfort and functionality to natural fibre products.

Hedrena is Geelong based and all of its products are made in Geelong from pure Australian superfine merino wool. In addition to selling its products through department stores and specialty boutiques, Hedrena has its own retail stores. These stores are quite unique due to the total emphasis on natural fibres. Every garment sold in Hedrena stores has been manufactured from natural fibres.

Hedrena Wool fabric is different to any other wool. It has been uniquely specified to suit both underwear and outerwear clothing. Designed for the most tender skins, Hedrena Wool is unlikely to itch, irritate or prickle. Wools natural properties keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, reducing body odours, keeping you fresher longer. Perfect for sport, work or play. Even when wet, wool retains warmth. Wool resists flame. You should wear Hedrena Wool in summer because the fabric will help absorb your body perspiration more effectively and keep you dry.

Hedrena Wool is easy to clean: Warm machine wash on gentle cycle using wool mark approved detergent. Rinse warm and either dry in shade or warm tumble dry. Never use bleaches.

Hedrena Wool is a trademark protected in world markets. It is your guarantee of quality and style.
